We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and efficiency on construction sites by directing traffic, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating the movement of heavy equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of construction operations and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction sites to ensure safety.
• Communicate clearly with construction crews and drivers regarding site operations.
• Monitor the movement of heavy equipment including bulldozers, dump trucks, graders, and front loader trucks.
• Assist in utility locating to prevent damage to underground services.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols on site.
• Report any incidents or hazards to the site supervisor promptly.
• Collaborate with construction teams to facilitate smooth operations during loading and unloading activities.

Experience

• Proven experience in traffic control or a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including but not limited to Caterpillar machinery, loader operation, and grader operation.
• Knowledge of construction site protocols and utility locating practices is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
